I was thrilled the first time Francesca posed in this lovely antique lace. You see I had no idea it would cast such delicate lacey shadow just below her breast. When I first saw it I knew I was onto something. Just one of the many unexpected surprises the world of female photography can deliver!

Afterwards in Photoshop I sharpened up the lace, as well as the nipple, to give more depth to the photo. Since the breast and the lace beside it are closer to the viewer in real life, bringing them into focus helps recreate that reality in two dimensions. I then "burnt" the edge of the photo, to give the illusion that Francesca was moving from the darkness into the light.I should also like to mention again the influence David Hamilton has had on my work.You can learn more about this remarkable photographer here
