Francesca almost wearing Romeo's costume
This is a beautiful female photography nude. I bleached out the highlights on purpose to increase the feeling of sunlight. A good guide here is to remember the feeling when you walk out of a house into bright sunshine. Click here for more

The intentional bleaching out effect lightens the mood of the image. It also loses the background window detail, this creates a sense of mystery about what's beyond the window, and allows you to concentrate on Francesca's heavenly body!
There is a feeling of being overwhelmed by the brightness, and bleaching out the highlights can recreate that feeling. Black and white photography has a charm all of its own. I love the feeling of the sunlight dissolving the female body of the model in this elegant photo.
This also has the effect of increasing the perceived softness of the skin, which was a specific effect I was aiming for, by contrasting the smooth skin with the rough texture of the 17c stage costume I love to use.
The different textures of the various costumes, kimonos and bits of fabric I've collectedover the years all add interest and contrast to my photography.
The antique mirror add an element of luxury and romance to the photograph, complimenting the antique “romeo” costume which Francesca is not exactly wearing! However it suggests that the man in her life is absent, and she is comforting herself by half wearing his jacket.
Visually the richly patterned garment contrasts with the skin by the nature of its complexity, so there is a rough / smooth, complex / simple dynamic.
Keep an eye out for interesting old costumes and fabrics add to your range of props, it can often be the inspiration your looking for when you can't think how your going to set up the next set. Adding visual variety to your female photography will increase your enjoyment enormously.
